Salisbury Cathedral - A 20 minute walk

Salisbury Cathedral is a superb example of medieval architecture boasting the tallest spire in England which dominates the city skyline. Its Chapter House contains one of the four surviving copies of Magna Carta, which is on view to visitors all year except December. Situated high above Salisbury Plain, this was the original Salisbury - and it occupies a unique place in history. William the Conqueror built a great palace and the first Salisbury Cathedral here.

Part of the Doomsday book was written here, and on it's completion it was to Sarum that William summoned all the landholders in England to swear their oath of allegiance.

Old Sarum offers superb woodland and chalk-down walks, and views across beautiful countryside covered with wild flowers. You'll have perfect settings to enjoy a site steeped in history.
